Weavers Rolando and Naty are originally from Teotitlán del Valle, a Zapotec indigenous community in the state of Oaxaca. The couple now lives in Bucerías with their daughter, Julia, where they run their own business selling handmade wool products. They learned to weave as young children, using a pedal loom and coloring the wool themselves with dyes made from plants and other natural ingredients. Their intricate work is covered in geometric shapes and symbols, each with special meaning. Rolando and Naty take special orders and can make rugs with custom designs and colors.
