CRAFTING CONNECTIONS TOUR

Immerse yourself in an authentic, hands-on journey through Mexico's rich artisan traditions. Crafting Connections invites you to work side-by-side with master artisans to create and value their crafts.

Workshops may include:

  • Learning ancient techniques from a Nahuatl basket maker as you create your own traditional basket.

  • Learning what goes into the intricate beadwork of the Wixarika community, whose craft reflects the deep cultural heritage of their people.

  • Creating a colorful toy under the guidance of a master Tzotzil artisan from Chiapas.

As you work closely with these skilled artisans, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for the incredible time, effort, and mastery that goes into each piece they create.

This experience offers more than just a craft - it promotes responsible tourism by helping you to understand the true value of these handcrafted works, by supporting local communities, and by celebrating the dedication of the Mexican artisans to the preservation of their cultural heritage.

Afterwards, we'll gather for a family-style taco meal to share reflections and savor the flavors of Mexico with our artisan friends.
